Уже успевшую завоевать популярность модель DUNE HD Base заменит ее старший брат — HD Base 2.0. Устройство не сильно претерпело изменений в плане начинки-все тот же обкатанный 8634 чип от Sigma Designs. Основные изменения коснулись дизайна плеера и механизма смены жестких дисков. Передняя панель полностью «одета» в глянец, а отсек для жестких дисков спрятан за незаметной дверцей. Производитель модернизировал систему интеграции HDD и во второй версии не требуется наличие пластикового бокса: любой 3.5 дюймовый жесткий диск заходит в отсек по принципу VHS кассеты. Кроме того, заметно увеличилась скорость работы с внутренним HDD за счет замены внутреннего интерфейса с USB (через переходник на SATA) на прямое SATA подключение. Улучшена система охлаждения, которая стала теперь еще более тихой.
