Известный производитель оборудования класса High End — McIntosh — анонсировал выход нескольких новинок, среди которых нас интересует, пожалуй, лишь новый Blu-Ray проигрыватель MVP881BR. Согласно опубликованному пресс-релизу, новый плеер будет весьма универсальным «источником», так как помимо Blu-Ray, сможет воспроизводить музыкальные диски, записанные в форматах SACD, DVD-Audio и CD-DA, а также проигрывать стандартные DVD-Video. Кроме того, плеер будет выполнен с учётом требований Profile 2.0, сможет декодировать все принятые для Blu-Ray звуковые форматы пространственного звучания и будет оснащён 7.1-канальным аналоговым аудиовыходом. Среди функциональных особенностей плеера — поддержка режима 24/60 fps для разрешения 1080p.

«Мы откладывали выпуск Blu-Ray проигрывателя до тех пор, пока не смогли сделать по-настоящему универсальный продукт», заявил президент компаний McIntosh и Snell Чарли Рэндэлл. «Данный проигрыватель обеспечит бескомпромиссное, фирменное звучание McIntosh» — заметил директор по маркетингу и продажам Стив Мульник.
