Отныне покупка отдельного ресивера не понадобиться, так как соответственная по функциональности аппаратная «начинка» встроенная в сам телевизор, станет с ним совместима после соответствующего апдейта прошивки. После этого, достаточно будет просто включить ТВ, заказать и смотреть кинофильмы и видеопрограммы в высоком разрешении.<br /><br />Наравне с другими грандами индустрии, такими как Samsung и Panasonic, компания LG стала инициатором включения в функционал телевизоров сетевого модуля с разъемом RJ-45 и соответствующего аппаратного обеспечения для воспроизведения видеопотока, передаваемого по локальной сети или посредством сети Интернет. Фирменный сервис «NetCast Entertainment Acccess» позволяет владельцам соответствующих телевизоров LG пользоваться сервисами Netflix, Yahoo! Widgets и YouTube.<br /><br />Начиная со следующего месяца, заказ фильмов в высоком разрешении будет возможен на новых ЖК-телевизорах компании серии LH50 1080p и плазменных панелях линейки PS80 Plasma 1080p. Те же пользователи, которым доступен сервис NetCast на телевизорах текущего поколения, также через месяц получат возможность заказа и просмотра фильмов через VUDU. Для этого нужно будет «перепрошить» телевизор новой версией ПО при помощи функции автоапдейта.
