Логичное решение этой проблемы — выпуск аппаратного видеоускорителя. Что, собственно, и сделала недавно компания Broadcom, представив публике дискретную плату в форм-факторе PCI-e — BCM70012. С ее помощью, нетбук или маломощный ноутбук могут без труда проигрывать HD-видео в формате 1080p, причем нагрузка на центральный процессор будет всегда оставаться минимальной. Стоит отметить и тот факт, что платы на основе BCM70012 уже начали появляться в качестве опций к нетбукам HP. Точнее, к одной из моделей этого производителя — Mini 110 XP. В свою очередь, некоторые «кулибины» и «левши» уже умудрились адаптировать BCM70012 к нетбуку Acer Aspire One, но это уже совсем другая история...
