Серия представлена тремя моделями – с диагональю экрана 40, 46 и 52 дюйма. Все их них обладают физическим разрешением 1920 x 1080 пикселей и используют ламповую подсветку. Телевизоры оснащены универсальным тюнером, способным принимать как сигналы эфирного («наземного»), так и кабельного вещания. Дополнительно имеется интерфейс CI Plus. Он позволяет использовать модули CAM и принимать HD-сигнал напрямую, без телеприставки. <br /><br />Во всех телевизорах имеется поддержка стандарта DLNA и Ethernet-порт, посредством которого телевизор можно подключить к интернету напрямую, минуя компьютер, для получения различной информации – новостей, котировок, прогноза погоды, гороскопа и так далее. Для управления телевизором используется графическое меню XrossMediaBar, впервые представленное в игровой приставке. Посредством этого меню можно выбрать виджеты, которые будут находиться на экране вместе с изображением. <br /><br />Телевизоры обладают функцией автоматического отключения после определенного периода бездействия. Имеется встроенный световой датчик, подстраивающий уровень подсветки экрана в зависимости от освещенности в комнате. Дополнительный режим позволяет телевизору работать как скринсейвер, переводя его в энергосберегающий спящий режим после определенного периода отсутствия активности. <br /><br />Серия Z5500 поступит в продажу в июле 2009 г. Рекомендованная розничная стоимость на текущий момент составляет 130 тыс. руб. (модель с диагональю экрана 40 дюймов), 150 тыс. руб. (46 дюймов) и 170 тыс. руб. (52 дюйма). <br />
