Samsung продемонстрировала гибкий OLED-дисплей

На конференции SID-2009 в Сан-Антонио (штат Техас, США) подразделение Samsung Mobile Display представило рабочий прототип гибкого 6,5-дюймового дисплея, выполненного на базе органических светодиодов AMOLED.

Подобные дисплеи уже не в новинку, однако, по словам инженеров "Самсунга", их AMOLED-экран гнется значительно лучше, чем предыдущие модели компании, и к тому же на целый дюйм больше прежних разработок. Кроме того, радиус кривизны новой панели в пять раз больше, чем у существующих гибких LCD/ЖК-дисплеев. Разработчикам также удалось повысить время отклика, которое теперь в тысячу раз превышает показатель ЖК-экранов. К этому стоит добавить, что по сравнению с LCD-решениями экраны AMOLED позволяют получать более яркие и насыщенные цвета, потребляя при этом меньше электроэнергии.

Сообщается, что показанный образец — всего лишь концепт, однако можно надеяться, что очень скоро он найдет применение в мобильных телефонах, часах, электронных паспортах, динамически обновляющихся картах и прочей портативной электронике.

Пока в Samsung не готовы назвать даже приблизительные сроки возможных коммерческих поставок подобных дисплеев.
