Такие экологичные энергосберегающие усовершенствования в телевизорах LG привели к успешным результатам.  На CES этого года LG представила новую линейку телевизоров с передовыми функциями Smart Energy Saving (инновационное сохранение энергии), а также самый тонкий телевизор LED в мире с локальной технологией затемнения.<br /><br />Главной особенностью Smart Energy Saving Plus является функция Intelligent Sensor, которая анализирует окружающее пространство и свет, точно регулируя подсветку телевизора. Intelligent Sensor контролирует яркость, что позволяет улучшить качество изображения и вызывает меньше зрительного напряжения. Благодаря уменьшению ненужной яркости экономится энергия. К тому же в меню также заложена возможность самостоятельного выбора потребителем режима энергопотребления (минимальный, средний, максимальный, без видео (video mute) в зависимости от просматриваемого контента. В телевизорах LG экономия энергии достигает 70 процентов.<br /><br />Контроль LED фоновой подсветки вместе  с локальным затемнением сокращают потребление энергии, деля телевизионный экран на 200 различных секций, которые могут автоматически управлять лампой подсветки и индивидуально приспосабливаться, чтобы создать более ясные и более естественные изображения, даже когда яркий свет и глубокие оттенки присутствуют на экране одновременно. Другая инновационная функция Standby Mode Zero использует переключатель, чтобы перевести телевизоры LG в режим экономии энергии, в котором нулевой расход энергии. Это в конечном счете позволяет пользователям сократить ненужные расходы электричества.<br /><br />Разработка телевизоров соответствует стратегии компании LG, согласно которой  важными критериями являются экологичность продуктов, оправданность цены, качество, дизайн, производство, использование и утилизация. Это последовательный путь  по устранению опасного воздействия продукта на окружающую среду. Компания не только уменьшает использование вредных веществ в своих продуктах, но и внедряет оценку жизненного цикла продукта, которая выполняется на каждой стадии производства, чтобы оценить воздействие продукта на окружающую среду.
