Фирма производитель Tectoy и их новая, основанная на работе сети, консоль Zeebo, в основном, полагается на скачиваемые игры. Как было заявлено, Zeebo запустится в Бразилии в июле месяце, а затем на других подобных рынках в последующие месяцы.<br /><br />Во время запуска, сообщается, что консоль будет поставляться с предустановленными играми для мобильных платформ, такими как: Quake, Evil Prey и Action Hero 3D. Пока никто из вас не начал ругаться матом, спешим сообщить что, производитель утверждает, что Zeebo не является конкурентом таким консолям как: Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 или PlayStation 3. Новая консоль имеет постоянное, независимое подключение к сети 3G, благодаря фирме Claro, которая является партнером Tectoy, а также одним из самых крупных сотовых провайдеров в Америке. В соответствии со спецификацией Zeebo, опубликованной в издании Engadget, система отличается низким энергопотреблением, а также будет поставлять специальный контент для разработки игр в развивающихся регионах – контент будет проходить через специальные скачиваемые каналы, чтобы противостоять пиратству.<br /><br />Capcom, EA Mobile, Namco Networks, PopCap Games и THQ уже подтвердили свое решение о поддержке начинающей консоли. Игры для Zeebo от Tectoy будут стоить в районе $7 - $13, а сама консоль около $264 – эти суммы согласованы с ценами консолей нынешнего поколения на целевых рынках.<br />
