В прошлом месяце компания объявила о намерении прекратить продажи в Европе, Африке и на Ближнем Востоке. Компания не может конкурировать с крупнейшими игроками, присутствующими в данных регионах. <br /><br />Согласно прогнозу NEC, в текущем финансовом году (заканчивается в конце марта 2009 г.) чистые убытки компании составят $2,96 млрд. В связи с реструктуризацией и покиданием непрофильных бизнесов компания сокращает более 20 тыс. рабочих мест по всему миру. <br /><br />Между тем, в Японии NEC остается крупнейшим поставщиком ПК. В год компания реализует примерно 3 млн компьютеров, из них 2,5 млн продаются в Японии. <br />
