Если попытаться объяснить это в двух словах, то мы бы сказали, что это новый способ игры в онлайне без необходимости покупки тайтлов – звучит немного нескладно, но это так. Плюс ко всему, еще одна новая «консоль» под названием Zeebo, дебютировавшая на GDC, повергает в еще большее недоумение. К счастью, у нас было время узнать о них побольше, так что есть, что рассказать.<br /><br />OnLive как компания, игровой сервис и консоль в одном флаконе произошла от Rearden и была основана Стивом Перлманом(Steve Perlman) и Майком Макгарви(Mike McGarvey), ранее работающими в Rearden. Изначально компания позиционировала себя вокруг новых способов работы с потоковым видео, ради чего и была создана – «интерактивное видео сжатие» - которое, в соответствии с официальными данными имело очень низкую задержку и доводило, так называемый видео «лаг» до значения «около миллисекунды». Используя такую технологию, планы компании пошли дальше и заключались в том, чтобы расставить пять серверов по стране, которые бы хранили ваши игры целиком и полностью и передавали бы видео поток из игры на ваши Mac, PC или телевизор. Звучит амбициозно, не правда ли?<br /><br />Информация о том, как это все работает и работает ли вообще будет позже, как только выясним подробности. <br />
