На американском рынке новая модель будет носить название EOS Rebel T1i, в то время как в Европе – EOS 500D. Одной из отличительных особенностей новой камеры является возможность видеосъемки с Full HD-разрешением (1920 x 1080 точек). <br /><br />Модель оснащена 15,1-МП сенсором, процессором последнего поколения Digic IV c 14-битным аналогоцифровым преобразователем для обработки изображений и 3-дюймовым ЖК-дисплеем с разрешением 920 тыс. пикселей. Среди прочих функций: Auto Lighting Optimizer, Creative Auto Mode и Live View. Камера позволяет делать последовательную съемку высококачественных JPEG-фотографий со скоростью 3,4 кадра в секунду до 170 последовательных снимков и в формате RAW до 9 снимков с сохранением на карты памяти SD/SDHС не ниже Class 6. Диапазон ISO – от 100 до 3200. Дополнительные режимы позволяют выставить ISO 6400 и 12800. <br /><br />В камере используется девятиточечная система автоматической фокусировки. Модель совместима с более чем 60 объективами Canon EF и EF-S. Максимальный размер видеоролика – 4 ГБ. Это соответствует 12 минутам записи в Full HD. Скорость записи при этом составляет 20 кадров в секунду. При разрешении 720p – 30 кадров в секунду. <br /><br />Продажи камеры начнутся весной 2009 г. Стоимость без объектива составит $800.
