Исследование, проведенное Screen Digest, показывает, что более 4 млн. домохозяйств Европы сейчас смотрит HD-передачи, что свидетельствует о том, что количество этих домов в течение года выросло в 4 раза. И тем не менее, говорится в отчете по исследованию, это составляет пока только 1.8% потенциального рынка телезрителей.<br /><br />HDTV-телевещание сейчас доступно почти на каждом европейском рынке, “главным образом это платное ТВ”, сообщает Screen Digest. Лидерами являются Великобритания и Франция, некоторый прогресс наблюдается в Испании и Германии. Число HD-каналов удвоилось в 2008 году. Франция имела 20 high-definition каналов в декабре 2008 года, Великобритания - 31.<br /><br />Screen Digest сообщает, что 4,6 млн. домов, принимающих HD-вещание, разбросаны по всем 26-ти крупнейшим европейским рынкам, включая Россию и Турцию. Нужно заметить, что показатель в 4,6 млн. домов значительно превосходит прогноз (2,7 млн.), сделанный в марте 2006 года. Исследование также показывает, что Франция вполне может добиться прогресса в развитии HD, не за счет платного ТВ, а с помощью бесплатных эфирных каналов, доступных на базе цифрового наземного вещания (DTT).<br /><br />Screen Digest пересмотрел свои прогнозы и сейчас предполагает, что, в общем, крупнейшие европейские рынки охватят HD-вещанием 54 млн. домов к концу 2013 года (при этом 45 млн. домов придутся на Западную Европу), 38 млн. из этих домов будут смотреть программы платного ТВ.
