Это не единственное изменение: теперь покупатель может выбрать вариант с жестким диском емкостью до 320 ГБ, в то время как стандартная опция подразумевает 120-ГБ накопитель. Максимальный объем ОЗУ – 4 ГБ. Компьютер оборудован процессором Intel Core 2 Duo с тактовой частотой 2 ГГц и 1066-МГц шиной. Внутри 17-сантиметровой коробки также скрываются Wi-Fi и Bluetooth. Встроенный привод со щелевой загрузкой способен прожигать CD- и DVD-диски. Сзади расположены 5 USB, Ethernet, Mini DVI, FireWire 800 и Mini DisplayPort. <br /><br />Apple называет обновленный Mac mini самым энергоэффективным настольным компьютером в мире, который потребляет менее 13 Вт энергии в режиме ожидания. Это на 45% лучше аналогичного показателя Mac mini предыдущего поколения. <br /><br />Компьютеры Mac Pro теперь предлагаются с четырехъядерными процессорами Intel Xeon X5500 и X3500 (Nehalem-EP). Встроенный в ЦПУ контроллер памяти поддерживает шину 1066 МГц, а специальный режим Turbo Boost позволяет динамически управлять производительностью чипа. В компьютер устанавливается Core 2 Duo с частотой 3,06 ГГц и графический процессор на выбор – Nvidia GeForce GT 120, 130 или ATI Radeon HD 4850 c выделенной памятью до 512 МБ. Модель создана из перерабатываемых материалов, не включает опасные вещества вроде поливинилхлорида и, кроме того, удовлетворяет требованиям стандарта Energy Star 5.0 по электропитанию. <br /><br />Примечательно, что «младшие» iMac'и новой линейки укомплектованы существенно хуже «старших»: в них устанавливают только интегрированные видеокарты Nvidia GeForce 9400M. <br /><br />Все компьютеры поставляются с операционной системой Mac OS X Leopard и iLife ’09, пакетом программ для организации и управления фотографиями, создания фильмов и обучения музыке. Стоимость обновленного Mac mini начинается с $600. Стоимость Mac Pro с 4-ядерным процессором — от $2,5 тыс., с двумя четырехъядерными процессорами — от $3,3 тыс. Стоимость обновленного 24-дюймового iMac стартует от $1,5 тыс. Цены указаны для США. <br /><br />Компания Apple также объявила об обновлении базовой станции AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi и Time Capsule – теперь они работают одновременно в двух диапазонах 2,4 и 5 ГГц, обеспечивая наилучшую производительность и ширину охвата Wi-Fi. <br />
