По его словам, новая цена начнет действовать ориентировочно с апреля, максимум, с июня 2009 г. <br /><br />В случае если Sony этого не сделает, приставка будет залеживаться на складах. Разработчики в итоге переместятся к конкурирующим платформам – Xbox 360 и Nintendo Wii. <br /><br />Аналитик также сообщил, что Sony рассматривает возможность выпуска более дешевой версии PlayStation 3, в которой не будет поддержки Blu-ray. Такая консоль хоть и будет стоить дешевле, существующие диски будут с ней несовместимы.
