Среди прочих были представлены и модели с поддержкой HD-видео.<br /><br />В большинстве новинок используется процессор изображений Canon DIGIC 4, что, по словам компании, позволило поднять скорость съемки и качество снимков. Еще одним важным нововведением является функция Smart AUTO, автоматически подбирающая настройки в зависимости от условий съемки. К другим особенностям аппаратов относится наличие оптической стабилизации изображения, функции распознавания лиц и обнаружения движения в кадре. Интересное новшество — технология Blink Detection, уведомляющая фотографа о том, что кто-то из людей в кадре моргнул в тот момент, когда был сделан снимок. Она позволяет своевременно принять решение о необходимости повторной съемки.<br /><br /><br />Парад открывает модель Canon PowerShot SX1 IS, ориентированная на тех, кому необходим телеобъектив. Датчик изображения типа CMOS, используемый в Canon PowerShot SX1 IS, имеет разрешение 10 Мп. Камера поддерживает запись видео в формате 1080p Full HD. Диапазон изменения фокусного расстояния объектива с оптическим стабилизатором составляет 28-560 мм (ЭФР). Камера оснащена дисплеем размером 2,8 дюйма по диагонали. Предусмотрена съемка в форматах RAW и JPEG.
