Процессор снабжен четырьмя ядрами и работает на тактовой частоте 2,0 ГГц при частоте системной шины 1 066 МГц. В отличие от ранее выпущенных четырехъядерных QX9300 и Q9100, оборудованных 12 Мб кеш-памяти второго уровня, у новинки размер кеша L2 составляет 6 Мб. Процессор Core 2 Quad Extreme Q9000 производится по 45-нанометровой технологии и предлагается по цене в $348 в крупнооптовых партиях от 1 000 штук. <br /><br />Также корпорация представила четыре мобильных чипа с двумя ядрами из линейки Core 2 Duo — модели T9800, P9600, T9550 и P8700. Все процессоры изготавливаются по 45-нанометровой методике, имеют 6 Мб кеш-памяти второго уровня, а частота системной шины равна 1066 МГц. Модели с буквой «Т» в обозначении характеризуются максимальным значением рассеиваемой тепловой энергии в 35 Вт, с буквой «Р» — 25 Вт. Тактовая частота чипов T9800 (стоит $530), P9600 ($348), T9550 ($316) и P8700 ($241) составляет 2,93, 2,66, 2,66 и 2,53 ГГц соответственно. <br />
