Не хотели бы вы, чтобы ваше любимое кино в Blu-ray могло работать, например, в квартире у бабушки? Но вот загвоздка, по каким-то причинам она еще не приобрела Blu-ray плеер. Это шутка конечно, а теперь серьезно… Благодаря новому, гибридному DVD/Blu-ray диску, вы сможете смотреть ваши фильмы, записанные в Blu-ray, на стандартном DVD плеере. Это, конечно, не будет HD качество, но все же, это лучше, чем ничего.

Такая технология не за горами. Вообще-то, она уже доступна. Infinity Storage Media выпустила первый гибридный диск, который рассчитан как раз на это. Используя, так называемый, «умный» двухслойный процесс(clever dual-layer process), приводы DVD смогут считывать DVD-слой, в то время как, приводы Blu-ray будут считывать Blu-ray слой. Картинка выше, показывает этот процесс в упрощенном виде.

Мы не уверены, как далеко продвинется данная технология, или будет ли она принята другими компаниями. На данный момент, этот продукт доступен строго для Японии. Вполне возможно, что многие студии, специализирующиеся на HD, будут выпускать свои фильмы на вот таких гибридных дисках.
