Помимо полутерабайтового накопителя, серия включает модели емкостью 64, 128 и 256 ГБ в форм-факторе 1,8 и 2,5 дюйма (кроме наиболее емкого, форм-фактор которого – только 2,5 дюйма). Все они выполнены на базе многоуровневой структуры ячеек (Multi-Level Cell – MLC) и 43-нм технологического процесса. <br /><br />Устройства относятся ко второму поколению Toshiba и предназначены для ноутбуков, игровых приставок, рекордеров и других пользовательских систем. <br /><br />Каждый из накопителей содержит MLC-контроллер, обеспечивающий высокую скорость чтения и записи информации, управляющий параллельными потоками данных, а также обеспечивающий должную надежность памяти и предотвращающий ее преждевременный износ, сообщается в пресс-релизе. Пиковая скорость передачи данных в режиме последовательного чтения составляет 240 МБ/с, в режиме последовательной записи – 200 МБ/с. Достаточно высокие значения по сравнению с существующими продуктами. Наконец, новые SSD Toshiba оснащены функцией AES-шифрования, которая обеспечивает защиту данных от несанкционированного использования. <br /><br />Демонстрация накопителей состоится на выставке потребительской электроники CES 2009 с 8 по 11 января будущего года в Лас-Вегасе. Пробные образцы будут выпущены в I квартале 2009 г., а массовое производство новой линейки планируется начать во II квартале будущего года.<br /><br />Компания отмечает, что заинтересована в дальнейшем развитии SSD-технологий, так как считает данную память перспективной. По данным Toshiba и аналитиков, доля SSD в ноутбуках увеличится до 10% к 2010 г. и до 25% - к 2012 г. <br />
