Canon приостанавливает строительство нового завода

Японский производитель цифровых фотокамер компания Canon сообщила о том, что откладывает начало строительства нового завода в Нагасаки (Япония).

О своем намерении нарастить темпы производства фотокамер компания объявила в июле 2008 г. Строительство завода Nagasaki Canon планировалось начать в январе 2009 г. и закончить в ноябре, а запустить производство – в декабре 2009 г. Производственная мощность площадки должна составить 4 млн камер в год.

Теперь, в связи с изменениями в мировой экономике, компания решила повременить с началом строительных работ до лучших времен. Производитель ссылается на резкий спад потребительского спроса, который в последние годы наоборот показывал уверенные темпы роста, что в свое время и послужило причиной для строительства нового производства.

Canon обещает, что не будет отказываться от тех, кто уже принят на работу на будущий завод. Эти люди будут отправлены на обучение, как и планировалось, а затем будут устроены в Nagasaki Canon, видимо, уже только в 2010 г.
