Производители ЖК-дисплеев заплатят крупные штрафы

Министерство юстиции США признало крупнейших производителей LCD-панелей — компании LG, Sharp и Chunghwa — виновными в ценовом сговоре и оштрафовало указанные компании на $585 млн. Решение окружного суда Сан-Франциско было вынесено в среду, обвиняемые компании признали факт сговора и согласились с вердиктом суда.

Согласно судебному решению, LG заплатит львиную часть суммы — $400 млн., это второй по величине штраф, который когда-либо назначался для компании Антимонопольным отделом при министерстве юстиции США.

Виновные компании поставляли LCD-панели многим производителям электроники, например, Apple, Dell и Motorola. LG признана виновной в фиксации неоправданно высоких цен на TFT-LCD панели, имевшей место в сентябре 2001 г. — июне 2006 г.

За участие в ценовом сговоре Sharp придется заплатить $120 млн. Японская компания поставляла ЖК-панели по завышенным ценам компаниям Dell — с апреля 2001 г. по декабрь 2006 г. для производства мониторов и экранов ноутбуков; Motorola — с осени 2005 г. и до середины 2006 г. для телефонов RAZR; Apple Computer Inc. — с сентября по декабрь 2006 г. для плееров iPod.

Тайваньская компания Chunghwa выплатит оставшиеся $65 млн.
LG, Sharp и Chunghwa признаны виновными в нарушении антимонопольного закона Шермана. Максимальный штраф для каждой корпорации-нарушителя составляет $100 млн., однако, эта цифра может быть увеличена до двойного размера от суммы доходов, полученных нарушителем, или убытков, которые понесла потерпевшая сторона.
