Компании Samsung и DivX подписали долгосрочное соглашение, которое позволит добавить возможность просмотра фильмов в формате DivX на телевизорах Samsung.

По словам представителей южнокорейского электронного гиганта, первые телевизоры с поддержкой DivX появятся уже в начале 2009 года. Ожидается, что медиафайлы будут загружаться через USB-порт или по сети.

Стоит отметить, что до последнего времени телевизоры были едва ли не единственным видом медиапродуктов Samsung, не способным проигрывать DivX-файлы самостоятельно. В частности, поддержка формата уже достаточно давно присутствует не только в производимых компанией DVD-плеерах, но и в сотовых телефонах.
