На днях она сообщила о разработке синего лазерного диода, мощности которого достаточно для записи многослойных Blu-ray дисков на скорости до 12x.<br /><br />Как отмечают разработчики, при создании нового диода им пришлось преодолеть целый ряд технологических препятствий. Во-первых, диод должен предоставлять стабильно высокую выходную мощность на уровне 450 мВт на протяжении довольно длительного времени (пока длится запись). Во-вторых, полупроводниковый элемент должен обладать достаточно высокой эффективностью преобразования электричества в оптическую мощность.<br /><br />Для успешного достижения требуемых характеристик Sanyo применила при создании элемента новую структуру, названную LASTECT. Защитная плёнка была сформирована на обеих сторонах лазерного диода, что позволило обеспечить лучшие отражательные свойства, а также защиту от окисления. Кроме того, она обладает хорошими диэлектрическими характеристиками, низкой фотоабсорбцией, что позволило поддерживать выходную оптическую мощность в допустимых рамках на протяжении достаточно длительного времени.<br /><br />Также структура LASTECT включает новый слой с низкой фотоабсорбцией, который размещается вдоль пути распространения оптического луча. По утверждению разработчиков, такое решение позволяет уменьшить энергетические потери и, соответственно, улучшить эффективность преобразования мощности.<br /><br />Отдельно стоит отметить компактность нового диода – его диаметр составляет всего 5,6 мм.<br /><br />Sanyo намерена улучшить характеристики своей разработки и планирует запустить новые диоды в массовое производство через два-три года. Да и куда спешить, ведь Blu-ray Disc Association до сих пор не стандартизировала даже запись на скорости 8x.
