Dell переходит на светодиоды

Компания Dell планирует перейти на использование исключительно светодиодной подсветки во всех своих ноутбуках в течение ближайшего года.

До 15 декабря 2008 две трети моделей семейства Dell Latitude E получат такую подсветку. В частности, светодиодная подсветка в качестве стандартной опции будет доступна в ноутбуках Latitude E4200, E4300, E6400, E6400 ATG и E6500. Кроме того, светодиодная подсветка станет стандартной в дисплеях мобильных рабочих станций Dell Precision M2400 и M4400.

Уже к концу будущего года Dell планирует использовать светодиодную подсветку не менее чем в 80% ноутбуков, а в 2010 году – полностью перейти на светодиодную подсветку в своих мобильных компьютерах.

К достоинствам светодиодных систем подсветки над системами, в которых используются флуоресцентные лампы с холодным катодом, относится отсутствие ртути, пригодность к повторной переработке и энергетическая экономичность.
