Продажи процессоров достигли рекордной отметки

В течение II квартала 2008 г. в мире было продано рекордное количество процессоров для персональных компьютеров, сообщает IDC.

Как правило, период с апреля по июнь отличается наименьшим ростом процессорного рынка. Несмотря на этот факт, а также на экономический кризис в США, за указанный период в мире было продано на 3,1% процессоров больше по сравнению с I кварталом 2008 г. и на 16,1% больше по сравнению со II кварталом 2007 г.

Ценовая война между вендорами в низшем и среднем ценовых диапазонах привели к сокращению дохода от реализации чипов по сравнению с кварталом ранее на 4,5% до $7,7 млрд.

Продажи корпорации Intel за год увеличились почти на 21%, компании AMD – остались примерно на прежнем уровне. Доля Intel на мировом рынке процессоров для ПК составила 79,7% (больше на 0,9%), AMD – 19,7% (меньше на 1,2%).

Конкретное число проданных процессоров IDC не сообщает.
