Компьютер базируется на платформе Intel Centrino 2 и оснащается пока еще не вышедшим в официальную продажу процессором Intel Core 2 Extreme X9300, 8 ГБ оперативной памяти и видеокартой Nvidia Quadro FX с 1 ГБ выделенной памяти. Особенностью лэптопа, помимо четырехъядерного процессора, является дисплей, разработанный совместно с компанией DreamWorks Animation. Он способен отображать 16 млн. цветовых оттенков против 262 тыс. в большинстве существующих моделей. <br /><br />HP EliteBook 8730w появится в продаже до конца августа. Цена с четырехъядерным процессором пока неизвестна. Помимо этой модели, новым процессором также будут оснащаться 15-дюймовые модели 8540p и 8530w. <br /><br />Компания Lenovo представила ThinkPad W700 – рабочую станцию, конфигурация которой также может включать первый мобильный четырехъядерный процессор, такой же, какой предлагается HP, сообщает eWeek. <br /><br />Компьютер Lenovo может быть оснащен тремя жесткими дисками общей емкостью 960 ГБ. Есть возможность поставить SSD-накопитель и привод Blu-ray. К сожалению, вес ноутбука не радует – около 4 кг. Тоже самое можно сказать и о времени автономной работы на уровне 2 часов. Ноутбук оснащен сенсорным планшетом. Начало продаж запланировано на сентябрь, цена – от $3 тыс. <br /><br />Ожидается, что Intel Core 2 Extreme X9300 будет представлен на конференции IDF, которая начнется 19 августа в Сан-Франциско.
