По сообщениям редакции сайта Akihabara News, побывавшей на презентации новинки, HD800 обладает значительными улучшениями в качестве видео, не в последнею очередь благодаря фирменном фильтру шумов 3DDNR. В основе нового камкодера лежит 8.0 мегапиксельный 1/2.5-дюймовый CMOS сенсор, поддерживаются карточки форматов SD/SDHC, оптический зум - 5x, LCD экран диагональю 2.7 дюйм. Так же хочется отметить функции распознавания лиц и легкой в использовании системы «схвати-перетащи» для переноса отснятого AVC/H.264 видео на компьютер.
