Видео по запросу от amazon Газета New York Times сообщила что Amazon отказывается от использования сервиса Unbox в пользу интернет - телевидения и киномагазина под названием Amazon Video on Demand.

В отличие от iTunes и Unbox, новый цифровой магазин Amazon предложит потребителям более 40000 фильмов и телевизионных программ для просмотра в потоковом режиме. Согласно заявлению Билла Кара (Bill Carr), вице-президента Amazon по цифровым медиа, целью компании является создание нового опыта для потребителей, которые увидят насколько это просто – смотреть кино на Amazon.com, одним кликом мыши. Чтобы определиться в выборе фильма, а так же его качестве, первые 2 минуты каждого видеоролика можно просмотреть прямо на сайте.

Фильмы можно купить и загрузить на ваш компьютер, либо просмотреть кино в потоковом режиме. Фильмы и ТВ-программы от «крупнейших студий и телевизионных сетей» будут доступны для покупки и просмотра напрокат в США (цена на эти услуги пока не известна) и только Disney и ABC не участвуют в этом проекте – по вполне очевидным причинам (Стив Джобс является крупнейшим держателем акций Disney).

Amazon также планирует сделать этот сервис доступными для владельцев телевизоров Bravia от Sony: этот сервис будет работать через специальное устройство от Sony Bravia Internet Video Link (стоимостью $300). Для тестирования сервиса Amazon раздаст приглашения ограниченному количеству клиентов Amazon.com, прежде чем он выйдет в широкую эксплуатацию.
