Начиная с воскресенья, 13 июля, рекомендуемая розничная стоимость GeForce GTX 260 составляет $299 вместо $399 ранее, стоимость GeForce GTX 280 упала с прежних $649 до $499. <br /><br />Оба продукта были запущены менее месяца назад. Решение о снижении цен было принято компанией Nvidia в связи с выходом нового поколения видеокарт ее главного конкурента, компании AMD, выпускающей продукцию под брендом ATI. Стоимость ATI Radeon HD 4850 и HD 4870 составила $199 и $299. Позже компания AMD пообещала, что в августе 2008 г. выпустит видеокарту ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, производительность которой будет выше, чем GeForce GTX 280.
