По мнению экспертов, формату нового поколения Blu-ray понадобится несколько лет на то, чтобы вытеснить стандарт предыдущего поколения DVD, который был представлен 10 лет назад. Именно 2012 г. станет для Blu-ray решающим, когда продажи Blu-ray-дисков впервые обойдут продажи DVD, сообщает американская Ассоциация поставщиков домашнего контента (Entertainment Merchants Association, EMA). <br /><br />По данным ассоциации, в 2007 г. жители США потратили $15,9 млрд. на покупку фильмов на любых носителях, из которых половина была потрачена на диски формата DVD. В 2007 г. было продано 9 млн. дисков высокой четкости (включая HD DVD), которые принесли доход в $260 млн. Согласно прогнозу аналитиков, в 2012 г. продажи дисков формата Blu-ray впервые обойдут продажи DVD, а доход от их реализации к этому времени увеличится в 36,5 раз и составит $9,5 млрд. <br /><br />Стремительное распространение Blu-ray будет обусловлено увеличением числа выпущенных в этом формате фильмов, распространением игровой приставки Sony PlayStation 3, которая имеет встроенный привод Blu-ray, а также снижением розничной стоимости Blu-ray-плееров, которая со временем опустится до отметки, сопоставимой с ценой плееров формата DVD, считают эксперты. <br /><br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2008-06/1214564099_p2.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Blu-ray: еще прогнозы' title='Blu-ray: еще прогнозы' /></div><br />Тенденции на мировом рынке оптических носителей ($млн.)<br /><br />Напомним, Blu-ray рассматривается как формат, идущий на смену популярному DVD, появившемуся в 1997 г. Основное различие между DVD и Blu-ray кроется в емкости. Если двухслойный односторонний DVD-диск может вместить 8,5 ГБ данных, то Blu-ray — все 50 ГБ. Обладая емкостью в 8,5 ГБ, DVD позволяли записывать полнометражный фильм с разрешением 0,35 МП. Более высокая емкость Blu-ray позволяет записывать фильмы в гораздо более высоком качестве, так как изначально фильмы снимаются в значительно большем разрешении, а затем сжимаются до размера диска. <br /><br />Относительно будущего Blu-ray аналитики, тем не менее, разошлись во мнении. В то время как одни прогнозировали безоблачное будущее, другие в будущем формата сомневались, ссылаясь на то, что параллельно с развитием Blu-ray будет развиваться интернет, а соответственно, и сервисы вроде «видео по требованию». При этом вопрос, за кем останется победа, оставался открытым. С течением времени сомнений в безоблачном будущем Blu-ray становится все меньше. Вендоры подтверждают это. Так, в интервью CNews Мария Силич (Maria Csilics) из европейского офиса Verbatim (регион EUMEA) привела данные SCCG, которые показывают динамику развития рынка Blu-ray до 2010 г. Очевидно, что бизнес Blu-ray в мире постепенно становится массовым: так, объем продаж Blu-ray-дисков в 2008 г. составит $248 млн., что почти в 4,5 раза выше показателя 2007 г. А в 2010 г. объем Blu-ray-рынка достигнет $451 млн., в то время как сектор DVD впервые продемонстрирует негативную динамику, снизившись с $1,458 млрд. в 2009 г. до $1,431 млрд. в 2010 г. Сектор CD к этому моменту сузится до $990 млн.
