На этот раз 18 компаний оценивались по более жестким критериям. «Гринпис» усилил требования к утилизации электронных отходов, использованию вредных химических элементов, а также добавил новый критерий – участие в программах по сокращению выбросов парниковых газов. В результате только две компаний - Sony Ericsson и Sony набрали более 5 баллов из 10 возможных. <br /><br />Лучшими с точки зрения энергоэффективности продукции оказались Sony Ericsson и Apple. Все модели этих производителей соответствуют требованиям стандарта Energy Star, а многие даже превосходят их. Кроме того, Sony Ericsson заработала наивысший балл за отказ от использования ряда токсичных веществ. Все новые модели этой фирмы не содержат ПВХ, а с января 2008 г. запрещено использование сурьмы, бериллия и фталатов. Стать абсолютным лидером рейтинга не позволило только наличие в ее продукции большого количества бромированных антипиренов – при том, что многие из товаров этой фирмы были заявлены как «не содержащие бромированные антипирены». Apple осталась на прежних позициях, отказавшись от возможности улучшить экологические показатели новой модели iPhone. <br /><br />Лучшими по «энергетическому» критерию стали Fujitsu Siemens и Nokia. Fujitsu Siemens выполняет требования и поддерживает обязательное сокращение эмиссии СО2. Nokia лидирует в использовании энергии из возобновляемых источников, уже получая 25% электричества из этих источников и стремясь увеличить этот показатель до 50% к 2010 г. <br /><br />Что касается производителей приставок, то они по-прежнему плетутся в хвосте. Nintendo чуть улучшила свои показатели по использованию токсичных веществ. В то же время, относительно энергоэффективная приставка Wii не соответствует даже самым низким критериям стандарта Energy Star. <br /><br />
