Многие производители PDP-телевизоров, не выдерживая жёсткой конкуренции и снижения цен, уменьшают объёмы выпускаемой продукции или совсем покидают некогда привлекательную нишу телевизионного рынка. К примеру, компания Pioneer, выпускающая именитую "чёрную" линейку KURO, была вынуждена заметно сократить поставки плазменных дисплеев. А вот старожилы отрасли, японские Fujitsu и Sony, вовсе отказались от малорентабельного производства. Из числа оптимистично настроенных компаний можно назвать LG Electronics, Samsung SDI и Matsushita Electric, сменившая название на Panasonic. <br /><br />Около года назад стало известно о серьёзных проблемах в плазменном направлении компании Philips. По этой причине руководство приняло решение значительно уменьшить долю "плазмы" в телевизионном ассортименте и уйти с рынков некоторых стран. Однако снижением объёма поставок дело не обойдётся. Согласно сведениям тайванского ресурса DigiTimes, в будущем году голландская компания окончательно прекратит производство плазменных панелей. Отмечается, что "приговор" вынесен вопреки прогнозам, обещающим некоторый рост спроса на дисплеи данного типа. <br /><br />По оценкам специалистов, исследующих рынок плоскопанельных телевизоров, в текущем году продажи аппаратов на базе ЖК-панелей вырастут примерно до 100 млн единиц. В то время как годовой объём продаж плазменных дисплеев достигнет только 13 млн штук. Надо полагать, подавляющее большинство из них будет продано лидерами PDP-отрасли, компаниями LG, Samsung, Panasonic, потому как на долю Philips придётся всего 500 тыс. устройств. <br />
