Результат получился слегка неожиданным, так как телевизором высокой четкости владеет гораздо больше американцев – более одной трети. При этом, как выяснилось, купить Blu-ray-плеер в течение следующего года собираются лишь 9% респондентов, то есть едва ли каждый десятый. <br /><br />По словам вице-президента Harris Interactive Media & Entertainment Practice Джоан Бартен Клайн (Joan Barten Kline), в среднем стоимость плеера формата Blu-ray составляет свыше $300, что намного выше средней стоимости DVD-плеера с функцией преобразования разрешения; распространению Blu-ray мешает стоимость, даже несмотря на его очевидные преимущества. <br /><br />
