Компании Infineon Technologies, Intel, Panasonic и Texas Instruments объявили о создании консорциума HomeGrid Forum, который займется продвижением нового стандарта для передачи цифрового контента (фильмов, музыки и др.) по проводным сетям "умного" дома. <br /><br />Стандарт HomeGrid будет описывать технологию передачи цифрового контента посредством протоколов MAC и PHY по существующим коммуникациям домов, включая коаксиальные кабели, сети передачи электроэнергии и телефонные линии. "Единая универсальная технология мультимедийных сетей позволит упростить объединение устройств внутри дома", - комментирует Курт Шерф из аналитического агентства Parks Associates. <br /><br />HomeGrid Forum включает 11 компаний-основателей. Помимо вышеперечисленных, в него входят Aware, DS2, Gigle Semiconductor, Pulse~LINK, Ikanos Communications, Sigma Designs и Westell. <br />
