Когда Эд Бун, создатель серии Mortal Kombat, продемонстрировал публике рекламный ролик игры с участием Саб-Зиро и Бэтмена, зрители были, мягко говоря, удивлены.<br /><br />Как понятно из названия, в игре «Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe» столкнутся в смертельных поединках известнейшие персонажи культовых вселенных. Будут предложены две сюжетные кампании, которые расскажут причины пересечения столь разных миров. Сценаристами выступят знаменитые авторы комиксов: Джимми Палмиотти и Джастин Грей.<br /><br />В отличие от предыдущих игр серии «Mortal Kombat», этот проект будет рассчитан на более широкую возрастную аудиторию (12+): вы не встретите обилие крови и жестокие фаталити. Кроме того, геймплей станет проще, но динамичнее, появятся новые режимы боя "Klose Kombat" и "Freefall Kombat". Важную роль в сражениях на 3D-аренах будет играть ландшафт. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe строится на движке Unreal Engine 3, так что обещается современная графика и впечатляющие спецэффекты.<br /><br />Результат столь необычного и мало кем ожидаемого слияния станет известен осенью этого года. Игра выйдет одновременно на Xbox 360 и PlayStation 3.<br />
