Arqiva планирует создать международную HD дистрибуцию

Британская телевещательная компания Arqiva сообщила о своих планах по созданию международной платформы для доставки телевидения высокой четкости. Данный сервис компания намерена запустить в июле этого года. Платформа будет поддерживать технологии MPEG-2 и MPEG-4, стандарт DVB-S2 и будет вещать по средствам десяти международных телепортов.
Несмотря на то, что многие спортивные каналы предлагают HD трансляции местных событий, международные соревнования часто остаются в формате SD. Теперь ситуация должна измениться.
Simon Thrush, вице президент компании Arqiva в США сообщил, что запуск планируемого сервиса будет использовать возможности сети Arqiva в Великобритании и континентальной Европе. ‘’С таким количеством политических, спортивных и культурных мероприятий, намеченных на вторую половину 2008 года, мы рады предоставить потребителям возможность доступа к прекрасной картинке и качественному звуку когда бы они этого не захотели. ’’
