Он также подтвердил планы ZDF и ARD (Первый Государственный телеканал Германии) по запуску регулярного HD вещания во время и после Зимних Олимпийских игр 2010 года в канадском Ванкувере. <br /><br />Начальная фаза должна вступить в силу летом 2009 года во время проведения в Германии Мирового первенства по гимнастике, которое будет предложено каналом ZDF в формате высокой четкости. <br /><br />Шехтер выступил с критикой в адрес общественных телекомпаний, которые, по его словам, работают слишком медленно по внедрению формата HD, и заметил, что ''теперь телекомпании оборудованы гораздо лучше и готовы начать HD вещание, используя при этом расширенные библиотеки программ в формате высокой четкости''.
