Веря в успех Blu-ray, Mitsubishi строит грандиозные планы В ответ на поражение HD DVD компания Mitsubishi Chemical Media отреагировала заявлением о своих намерениях существенно увеличить объемы выпуска оптических носителей формата Blu-ray. По мнению производителя, решение Toshiba покинуть бизнес HD DVD вызовет повышение спроса на BD-диски.

Как сообщает источник, Mitsubishi вскоре введёт в строй новую производственную линию для выпуска записываемых Blu-ray дисков на своём заводе в Сингапуре. По предварительным оценкам, новая линия заработает уже в июле или августе и позволит выпускать около 500 тыс. болванок в месяц.

Отметим, что в настоящее время Mitsubishi выпускает 200 тыс. Blu-ray дисков в месяц. Таким образом, с запуском новых производственных мощностей месячные объемы выпуска достигнут 700 тыс. носителей. На фоне последних событий отрасли действия Mitsubishi выглядят вполне логичными.
