Производители бытовой электроники смогут получать лицензии с июля. Эта новость означает, что Ultra HD Blu-ray можно ожидать в продаже к концу 2015 года.<br />Новый формат будет поддерживать разрешение 3840 х 2160, а также расширенный динамический диапазон (HDR), более высокую частоту кадров и новые форматы объемного звучания, такие как Dolby Atmos и DTS:X .<br /><br />Видео с поддержкой HDR может быть представлено одним из двух способов: либо с использованием раздела спецификации “BD HDR” или через совместимые форматы, такие как HDR Dolby Vision.<br /><br />BDA также представила дополнительную функцию цифровой мост, которая позволит "потребителям просматривать купленный контент на нескольких домашних и мобильных устройствах". Это означает, что любое приобретенное видео можно смотреть на нескольких устройствах.<br /><br />Естественно, что формат будет обратно совместим, так что стандартные диски Blu-ray будут тоже воспроизводиться новыми плеерами.
