Если с OLED все более-менее ясно, ни одна другая компания пока не занимается массовым производством больших, телевизионных OLED панелей, кроме LG. Сегодня LG Display впервые выходит в лидеры по производству больших, средних и малых ЖК панелей, согласно данным, DisplaySearch. Компания уже была лидером по выпуску крупноформатных панелей, но отставала от Samsung Display по объему производства малых и средних панелей.<br /><br />Согласно последним данным DisplaySearch, в 4-м квартале прошлого года, LG Display впервые вышла на первое место и в сегменте малых и средних панелей, менее 9 дюймов, которые используются в смартфонах и планшетах. LG Display обошла не только Samsung Display, но и конкурента из Японии Japan Display, который отодвинул Samsung Display на третье место.<br /><br />LG Display планирует в этом году укрепить свои позиции на телевизионном рынке за счет выпуска тонких ЖК панелей, в том числе Quad UHD 8K. Кроме того, компания представит такие новые продукты, как собственную технологию AIT, ЖК панели с разрешением Quad High Definition (QHD) для смартфонов, и «безрамочных» мониторов. LG Display также собирается поставлять свои OLED панели некоторым производителям  телевизоров из Китая, включая Skyworth и Konka. К тому же компания сумела получить хорошие заказы на OLED дисплеи для смарт часов.<br /><br />К концу этого года компания планирует производить в месяц 34000 штук OLED пластин на производственной линии 8 поколения. В настоящее время ежемесячно сходит с конвейера 8000 штук OLED пластин. В зависимости от рыночного спроса, возможны дополнительные инвестиции в производство с целью выпуска еще более совершенных OLED панелей, включая изгибаемые.
