Silicon Image объявила о выпуске чипсета SiI9779, грозящего совершить настоящую революцию в области домашних мультимедийных центров. До сих пор интерфейс HDMI был весьма ограничен в поддержке Ultra HD видео. Но теперь все это уже в прошлом, потому что у SiI9779 есть входы HDMI, поддерживающие все HDMI версии 2.0, но, прежде всего, есть вход и выход SuperMHL, способный обеспечить прием сигналов в разрешении 8K с частотой до 60 к / сек!

Этот чипсет также будет использоваться для HDMI / SuperMHL адаптеров. Вполне возможно, что мало-помалу разъем HDMI заменит SuperMHL на всех домашних устройствах.
SiI9779 также позволяет реализовать поддержку HDR, гаммы Rec.2020, HDCP 2.2 и аудио Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 3D звук,HFR, и прием цифровых видеосигналов в разрешениях 4K или 8K, до 60 к / сек.
