HDR телевизор в состоянии отображать более широкий диапазон уровней яркости, обеспечит изображение с более темными и более яркими областями. Максимальная яркость пикселя должна быть около 1000 нит (по сравнению  примерно с 400 нит в сегодняшних телевизорах).<br /><br />Одна из проблем OLED дисплеев в том, что будучи очень яркими, они, как правило, уступают в этом отношении технологии ЖК. LG, по-видимому, удалось решить эту проблему, и во время пресс-конференции компании в Великобритании было объявлено о предстоящем выпуске в 3 квартале 2015 года OLED телевизоров с поддержкой HDR, это будет примерно к выставке IFA 2015 в Берлине.<br /><br />Конечно, чтобы смотреть ТВ HDR понадобится соответствущее видео, стандарт для которого еще даже не утвержден.
