BDP-S5500 и BDP-S4500 совместимы с технологией Triluminos, что позволит обеспечить расширенную цветовую гамму на экранах телевизоров Sony Triluminos. Функция Super Scaler позволяет обеспечить повышение разрешения стандартного видео до формата 1080p, имеется возможность конвертирования обычного видео в формат 3D. BDP-S1500 является единственной моделью без поддержки 3D.<br /><br />Все плееры при воспроизведении через USB, как и ранее, поддерживают разнообразные мультимедийные форматы, включая MKV, M2TS, AVCHD, DivX HD, AVI, WMV, MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, WAV, JPEG, и т.д.
