Это модель начального уровня с разрешением Full HD, с боковой LED подсветкой  и системой видеообработки Clear Resolution Enhancer, а также использована технология Motionflow XR100, имеется поддержка Smart TV.<br /><br />В серии Sony R550C будут выпускаться модели с экранами 32, 40 и 48 дюймов, выполненные в привлекательном тонком корпусе. В целом наружность этого телевизора очень напоминает другие Full HD модели производителя. Обращает на себя внимание алюминия подставка, более массивная, чем прежде.<br /><br />В Sony R550C применяется боковая LED подсветка экрана с технологией Frame Dimming, используется система видеообработки Clear Resolution Enhancer. Компенсатор движения Motionflow XR100 в лучшем случае уменьшает рывки и вибрации во время перемещения съемочной камеры.<br /><br />Поддерживается воспроизведение мультимедийных файлов из сети, имеется встроенный Wi-Fi, HbbTV, Smart TV обеспечивает доступ к интернет-порталу SEN (Sony Entertainment Network) и его многочисленным приложениям, есть игры, веб-радио, IPTV, видео по заказу, музыка из сети, доступ к социальным сетям.
