Такие киностудии как Pixar и Dreamworks сегодня работают над проблемой выпуска анимационных фильмов в разрешении 4К.<br /><br />По заявлению Бруно Маэ, технического директора Illumination Mac Guff, разрешение анимационных фильмов должно быть увеличено в 2,5 раза для соответствия разрешению 4K. Тем не менее, при этом нужно не просто повысить разрешение материала, как это происходит при съемке видео. Повышенная детальность должна быть проработана аниматором.<br /><br />В настоящее время анимированные фильмы производятся с разрешением 2K при частоте 24 кадра в секунду. Чтобы сделать анимированный фильм в разрешении 4K требуется много времени, согласно Маэ. Не только высокое разрешение 4K играет роль, повышенная частота кадров обеспечивает дополнительную нагрузку при рендеринге. Простое масштабировании 2K материала, по утверждению Маэ, не вариант, потому что качество картинки может снизиться.
