Во время испытаний будут проверяться возможности эффективного сжатия 4K контента и передающего оборудования. Для передачи цифрового видеосигнала используется оборудование, работающее в стандарте DVB-T2.<br /><br />Ранее также появлялись сообщения о тестировании в Германии комплекса оборудования с передачей Ultra HD TV на платформе HbbTV, которую поддерживает все больше и больше телевизоров. В этом случае 4K контент можно смотреть через видеосервисы за заказу, при условии, что телевизор подключен к интернету. Кроме того, уже ведется тщательное тестирование передачи цифровых 4K видеосигналов через спутник.
