Sony хочет предложить прием телевизионных каналов через интернет, чтобы позволить владельцам PlayStation и телевизоров Sony избавиться от телевизионных кабелей и антенн. Речь пока идет о североамериканских планах Sony.<br /><br />Но стоимость доступа к телеканалам будет дороже, чем ожидалось. Sony надеялась предложить меню с выбором отдельных телеканалов, а вместо этого будут предлагаться только полные пакеты каналов. Операторы согласились лишь на такой вариант. Sony уже подписала соглашение с рядом американских ТВ операторов, ведет переговоры с кинокомпаниями  Fox и Disney. <br /><br />По одним источникам, ТВ-сервис Sony может стоить около $80. Из других сообщений эта сумма снижается до $60-65. Телевизионный онлайн сервис Sony может начать работу в США уже в конце этого года.
