Небольшие партии таких телевизоров Samsung ожидаются в четвертом квартале этого года.<br />Sony была первой компанией, которая представила первый в мире телевизор на основе квантовых точек в 2013 году.<br /><br />Квантовые точки состоят из наночастиц полупроводниковых материалов, которые позволяют повысить качество изображения ЖК телевизоров за счет улучшенной цветовой насыщенности, в сравнении с традиционными ЖК дисплеями. Они позволяют расширить цветовую палитру ЖК дисплея, приблизив их в плане цветопередачи к OLED дисплеям.
