Красный лазерный диод с длиной волны 638 нм обладает мощностью 1.8 Вт в режиме непрерывного излучения. Это самый высокий показатель  для используемых сегодня в мире  лазерных источников света в проекторах. Массовый выпуск нового лазера намечен лишь на начало 2016 года.<br /><br />Сегодня ламповые источники света для проекторов, успешно заменяются твердотельными источниками света, обладающими более высокой энергоэффективностью, более точной цветопередачей, имеющими увеличенный срок службы. К таким источникам относятся лазерные диоды, обеспечивающие высокую выходную мощность при малой потребляемой, из-за их высокой эффективности преобразования энергии.
