Недавно компания разработала технологию создания ЖК дисплеев практически любой формы. <br /><br />Обычные дисплеи выполнены в виде прямоугольника. Это наиболее удобная конфигурация для управления отдельными ячейками ЖК панели. По периметру ЖК дисплеев располагается  часть системы управления, которая определяет и ширину ободка вокруг экрана. Новая методика конструирования ЖК дисплеев основана на технологии IGZO, которая уже известна тем, что позволяет снижать энергопотребление при одновременном увеличении яркости дисплеев. Выполненные по технологии IGZO отдельные транзисторы используются для создания рассредоточенных по площади ЖК панели систем управления ячейками. Это позволяет еще более сузить ободок вокруг экрана и разрабатывать ЖК дисплеи необходимой формы. <br /><br />Компания намерена освоить массовое производство дисплеев по новой технологии уже в ближайшее время. Такие дисплеи будут востребованы для приборных панелей в автомобилях и других транспортных средствах, они будут сочетать спидометр и другие приборы контроля. Есть и другие сферы применения для таких дисплеев, в том числе в носимых устройствах и рекламных панелях.
