Pixtronix Inc является дочерней компанией Qualcomm. <br /><br />Понадобилось почти 11 лет для окончательной доработки этой технология и девять лет прошло с тех как за нее взялась Pixtronix в 2005 году. <br />На этот раз, Sharp демонстрировал 7-дюймовый дисплей с разрешеним 1280 х 800 при глубине цвета 24 бит. Он обладает 122% охватом цветовой гаммы по стандартам NTSC. <br /><br />В отличие от обычных ЖК дисплеев, вместо жидких кристаллов новый дисплей использует микроскопические MEMS жалюзи. Для подсветки используются красные (R), зеленые (G) и синие (B) светодиоды, свет которых перекрывают жалюзи MEMS с временем реакции до 100 мкс. "При использовании 24 битного цвета, энергопотребление составляет менее половины от показателей ЖК панелей," заявляет Qualcomm. Для монохромных дисплеев, которые используются в основном для отображения текста,  энергопотребление составляет 1/10 от уровня ЖК панели.
